Congratulations Gerard Basset of Hotel TerraVina!

Mr Gerard Basset was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire(OBE) in the 2011 Birthday Honours for services to the hospitality industry.

A well deserved title for a gentleman who has achieved and given so much to the world of wine and the hospitality industry.

I cannot recommend enough a stay at the fabulous Hotel TerraVina, which Gerard owns, with his wife Nina Basset. You will not only be spoiled by the wine list and food, but the expertise behind the chosen menus.

Gem Freeman Jewellery is proud to be associated with Hotel TerraVina, be sure to peruse the silver and gold TerraVina Jewellery collection on your next visit.

RECYCLE YOUR UNWORN JEWELLERY

Gem is often approached to turn unworn, sentimental jewellery into modern, wearable pieces. On this particular commission (pictured below) Gem was asked to create a design based on her collection 'Meltdown'. Using a pair of 9ct gold cufflinks that were the clients fathers, Gem melted them down to form an uneven shaped pebble. Underneath are two half jump rings forming a gap for the rubber bracelet to thread through. The client now wears his bracelet every day, it is modern, very unusual and 'one off' and most importantly he is wearing his fathers jewellery!

New website live

As the first blog entry, I would like to say a few thank you's......

Thank you to Mr James Hoppe for creating this site. He spent a while researching all the best possibilities that would eventually allow me to take the reins and maintain my own site. That was quite a task as I spend most of my time escaping computers, but James has thankfully created something I am actually eager to work on (other than playing with metal in the workshop!) So thank you very much James, you are one talented designer and it has been a pleasure to work with you.

Big thanks to Adrian Roberts of Life capture, you and Christin are just fantastic and your photography is beautiful. Thank you for the 'on location' shots at the marina this summer.  The studio shots of the jewellery are perfect. A justified perfectionist!

Thank you to Mr Rod Lewis. Had a great studio session for 'A bit of Rough' amongst others. Your time and patience is much appreciated and your work stunning.
